Mediterranean wetlands: Management Planning/Monitoring/Values & Functions

Aim: Three  courses releted to Mediterranean wetlands are organzied:

  1. Management Planning for Mediterranean wetlands;
  2. Monitoring Mediterranean wetlands; and
  3. Values & Functions of Mediterranean wetlands.

The courses aim to provide participants with the basic knowledge on Mediterranean wetlands, and skills necessary for developing a management plan or a monitoring programme in their own country.

Who can participate: Staff involved in the management of Mediterranean wetlands: from
Government bodies, NGOs, local authorities, users of natural resources etc. Usually, courses
are project-based (eg. EU, GEF etc.) but can often accommodate a few more participants
from outside the project. Specific courses can also be organized upon special request. They can be organized in either English or French (Spanish would be a possibility too).

Duration: Usually 4-7 days.

Location: Locations of the training vary from project to project. Training locations so far
included: France, Turkey, Spain, Italy, Jordan, Algeria, Morocco, Slovenia and Greece.
