Courses on integrating wetland management in sustainable water management

Cap-Net/UNDP, The Netherlands

http://www.cap-net.org/

The international network for capacity building in sustainable water management, Cap-Net, is
a UNDP project and an asso ciated programme of the Global Water Partnership, funded by
the Dutch, Norwegian and Swedish governments and the EU Water Facility.

The network is composed of three entities:

  • regional and country level networks of capacity building institutions
  • international partners
  • thematic global networks

The Cap-Net capacity building strategy is based on three principles: local ownership of the capacity building process for sustainability and relevance, partnerships to combine strengths, and demand responsiveness to ensure impact.

Courses organised by Cap-Net members include:

  • Interface between groundwater and IWRM - in West Africa and Latin America
  • Environment and IWRM – global, and in Latin America and Nile Basin
  • Community management of water resources – in five regions
  • Conflict management in an environmental approach – Central America
  • River Basin Management for water managers – in four regions
  • Environmental flows for water managers – in three regions
