wetland management and livelihood - 2007/08/03 23:02
How can the human race sustainable manage natural wetlands without necessarily depriving themselves the benefits derived from these natural ecosystems? I come and work around Lake Victoria in East Africa, where some of the most important wetlands are threatened due to human activities for example the Dunga wetland which is home for the endagered roan antelope ( sitatunga) and also a major filter for most waste water from Kisumu city.
would like to hear of experiences from all over the world of how others are managing this aspect.
